Finding affordable and good quality makeup brushes is extremely difficult. I’d lost faith in finding a set under $100 for a while, until last week when I found the Designer Brands 10 Piece Premium Brush Set. There were little to no reviews on the internet but I took a gamble and purchased the $30 set.
I don’t regret a thing.
When the brush set arrived, the first thing I noticed immediately was the amazing quality of the brushes themselves and the perfect brush roll that comes with it. The case is amazing for travel and general makeup storage.
I’m a sucker for rose gold and these brushes are paired beautifully with a matte black handle. Each brush has a name on the handle so you don’t forget what they are for, which is ideal in my case as this is my first full brush set ever.
The best part? 100% vegan!
Here are my first impressions on the 7 out of 10 brushes I used.
I didn’t use the lip brush, dual ended brow brush or liner brush as they’re irrelevant to my personal makeup routine – however, they are not lacking in any quality whatsoever and the set was absolutely still worth it despite not using all of them.
Powder/Blush brush:
This is sooooo soft! Definitely not recommended to apply powder foundation however. It didn’t allow me to create the finish I like with powder so I need to continue using a denser and harder brush for that.
This brush would be perfect for blush (which I personally do not wear) and adding finishing touches at the end of your makeup routine. I used it to add some extra powder at the end and blend my face a little bit. I definitely like this brush but I feel like it’ll be one that I hardly reach for.
Foundation/Buffing brush:
Oh my god.
AMAZING.
There were no lines or streaks when I applied my Nars Sheer Glow foundation. It felt soft on my skin and did the job perfectly. It made my foundation look natural and allowed me to create full coverage. An absolute dream to use.
Angled Contour brush:
I used this to apply the Hoola bronzer by Benefit and it was amaaaaaaazing. It picked up the product well and allowed me to create a perfect contour that I could build up by using the brush. Love, love, love this brush.
Illuminating Fan brush:
For highlighter, I used the illuminating fan brush. I’m currently trying to finish an Hourglass highlighter I don’t like at all – but this brush made me fall in love with the highlighter again. The way the brush applied it to my face was so lovely. It’s soft and perfect for your glow up.
And finally – the three eyeshadow brushes:
I used all three of these with my Naked3 Palette and they all blended PERFECTLY. The payoff on the brush was great and helped me (a person who is terrible at eyeshadow) create a lovely eye look. Once again, super soft and gentle on your eyes.
I’m no makeup artist, but these brushes have definitely helped with my technique and application.
I washed them with the Mecca Brush Cleaner and they cleaned up wonderfully – no shedding either!

I’ve been sitting on the fence about these 😍 but they sound wonderful! I’m definitely purchasing them next time I’m in store. I love that they don’t shed when you wash them!
