Hello my lovelies,
So lets get straight into it… Denim, a trend that has graced us for the past couple of seasons, is still going strong. I have to admit, when I first heard this trend was back, I immediately thought of double denim in the ’90s, and wow, no wonder this trend was given such a bad name! So putting past ideologies behinde I decided to give this denim trend another go; hunting for the perfect denim item that could be used to create different looks for various occasions. After much soul searching, I came across a light-wash denim button-up shirt from Forever New. It was true love and so the fun began!
For the first look I tired I played it safe; keeping it casual and steering away from similar shades of denim. I paired it with white denim shorts and chic white sneakers. It was the perfect outfit for a balmy summer night, or a chill day out with the girls; accessorising with a pair of reflective shades and some simple silver jewellery to give it that extra kick.
For my second outfit I decided to find a little inspiration, something a little less safe. I flipped through magazines to see how celebs were tackling the denim trend. I wasn’t surprised to see a lot of the outfits consisted of denim in similar shades, which I had never really been fan of, but thanks to Kate Hudson and Miranda Kerr I braved the look. I paired the outfit with tan boots from Windsor Smith instead of the nude heels just to keep it comfortable, and added some rose gold jewellery. I loved the outfit and as soon as I felt confident enough to rock it, it looked even better!
The last outfit was extremely left of field and appeals to different people; but after my double denim success I was feeling daring, sooo I decided to pair denim with prints! I wasn’t 100% sure how I would feel about the look and whether I could pull it off, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was a fun outfit that could be worn on different occasions; whether it be with nude wedges or again a pair of cute white lace-ups!
I am officially denim obsessed!
